DANGERS OF LIVING IN A SOCIAL MEDIA WORLD!

ree

Social media sites are great. And useful. Amazingly as well. By entering social network is like setting out to explore a mysterious forest. There is much that is awe-inspiring and beautiful to behold; you will be so glad you set out on this journey. However, there are dangers lurking in the forest, wild beast, often ravenous one.

The first beast is called identity theft. You must take care of not to give your identity, bank card information to any site whose url does not begin with https. That is very important. Just http wont do. You want a secure site, one whose url begins with https, which means it's encrypted (128 bits) and virtually unhackable. But be warned: this beast usually tries to lure you into its lair by offering to give you something for practically nothing, or to claim to strengthen out something that is wrong with your bank account or financial records. Don't give them the information they ask for. If you think something might be genuinely wrong, disconnect from the site giving you that warning.

The second wild beast waiting for you on social media forest is called fraud. This beast takes the initiatives in approaching you, and basically offer you money you know you are not entitled to , or ask you to deposit money for them (their check is always a bogus) and give them back a portion of it (before their check bounces).

The third beast is called unwarranted charges on your bill. You receive a notification to call back about anything - an undelivered package or parcel or whatever. When you ring that phone number you are calling some country and the charges will probably run you £50 or more on your next phone bill. And if you sign up for some services or subscription online, always study your statements, when you thought it will only be once.

The fourth beast is called false reviews. You will have to be on your guard against this one if you have your own business and or your own website. Competitors may (can) pay someone to post false reviews on their site (but not yours) or negative reviews on your site. Where do they go shopping for such helpful people? from among their loyal friends, or by going to such otherwise innocent sites and hiring someone to do it for them.

The fifth beast is called rumours. You know, such things such as Steve jobs is giving always trial Ipad for £15 - that sort of thing. Check and find out whats is true, and what isn't. Steve R.I.P.

The sixth and last but not the least is the social site that will not Die. You go social, you try it out for a while, you want to terminate your account there, but you just cant. You try everything, but nothing works. What now? Well fortunately, there is a site designed to help you precisely with that problem. It is called https//suicidemachine.org. Its sole mission is to help you get off social media sites you no longer want to be on; it works too.

In this article - recessionary world, networking is an essential job- finding skill. But most of us, newly unemployed, don't understand why we should network and we should network about. And most of us think networking is just confined to social media, and the internet. Or just a matter of collecting a lot of business cards.

We need to once a broader and a more detailed understanding of networking, if we want to survive in this century.

I want to emphasize that there are two main kinds of networking. And, in this social media age, going face to face is still critically important. Getting good at doing that, often the secret of job-hunting success. And supplementing that with the social media world makes networking easier and more effective than it ever used to be. So many interesting, helpful websites on our laptops, smartphones and tablets.

Also remember; all kinds of networking depends for their effectiveness, on your having first done your homework; understanding fully who you are.
